Jesus words spread

I am amazed at the speed of information and its penetration power through the social spheres in the first century. This was not happening in an information age with the ease of access to the internet and its speed in transmitting information. Yet it spread through the whole society all the way to the top. Why? How? What can we learn from this to help us in our very resourceful world spread the knowledge of God, the same God Jesus came to make known (John 17:26). One thing is sure: some information spreads while other doesn’t. We can pretty confidently say Jesus Himself was not involved in spreading the word beyond His immediate audience. So the only way the word traveled was through word of mouth. People were the medium of transmission. But there was something about what was transmitted that didn’t let it die in the communication process but found people (not necessarily His followers) more than willing to help it spread. It is even more puzzling to know that people did not agree with His views and yet Jesus captivated them to the degree that they kept talking about Him, telling others what they heard, spreading His words, His ideas.
