Really popular for adults to function as kids in our society.

Immaturity reigns, emotional deprivation disorder is the psychological term.

There has to be intentional formation,…

Jesus said to them, "Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever." On hearing it, many of his disciples said, "This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?" Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, "Does this offend you? Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit and life. Yet there are some of you who do not believe." For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. He went on to say, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them." From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. (John 6:53-58, 60-66 NIV)

We know that it can be hard to walk the walk where Jesus asks you to do something and we really balk at doing that. When it stops serving "me" well.

It's not about our best interests, about serving yourself well, but it's about Jesus and what he's doing to serve his plan. Not ourselves or our values. Following Jesus sometimes means that it doesn't serve me the best, sometimes it's about something bigger. Do you follow or do you say that's enough? If you can get your heart around this, then there's much more to see. Peter answers for us, where do we go from here, you hold the words to eternal life, to not follow you means to follow something or someone else. Even if it doesn't make sense, god holds the keys to eternal life.

The answer continues. The concerns of God are greater than human concerns, it's not all about you, it's about God. It's about the concerns of God, not the concerns of God. Take up the cross and follow God, literally understand that following God is hard, it will cost you something, there's no free ride. But the response is that there's peace beyond circumstances, love that doesn't disappoint, everlasting life.

Most look for it with us at the center, but Jesus says he's at the center of that life that we are searching for. He's the center of it. But if we can die and die well...

Put self preservation on the alter and Gods glory on the
Pedestal.

May I decreases so that He can increase.

It's not about you. It's about Gods glory.

Choosing best over good, the enemy of best is good, sometimes the good things in our lives aren't the best things in our lives. There's lots of good opportunities, but say no to good so the best things can take over.

Count the cost. What's at stake is intimacy with God.

Risk all. Risk everything you have, resources, reputation.

Radical abandonment, I hold everything so loosely that I can hold Jesus in the right spot in my life that I can respond when God calls on my life.

It's not safe, it's nor right, it's about a deep walk with God.
