Never Too Young

Spent the weekend on the IWU Campus for their NTY. 750-850 middle school students in the PAC (Performing Arts Center) worshiping GOD without reservation...what an awesome site to see and how blessed I was to be a part of it!

Keith Conner led worship and energized the crowd. What encouraged me the most, was watching all of the middle school students worshiping GOD and not worrying what those around them think. Not sure about your worship service, but I fear in a lot of services that we allow ourselves to be hindered in worship cause we are worried what our neighbor will think. I know there are times in our Spirit Filled services that I want to stand up and shout, but I choose not to. Now don't get me wrong, we clap, stand, raise our hands, and are vocal in our worship but I wish i was like the middle school students this weekend, just worshiping and doing it as it comes!

In 2 Samuel, the ark was being brought into Jerusalem.

12 Now King David was told, “The Lord has blessed the household of Obed-Edom and everything he has, because of the ark of God.” So David went down and brought up the ark of God from the house of Obed-Edom to the City of David with rejoicing. 13 When those who were carrying the ark of the Lord had taken six steps, he sacrificed a bull and a fattened calf. 14 David, wearing a linen ephod, danced before the Lord with all his might. (NIV)

Somewhat the site I saw this weekend. Although they were wearing more than a linen ephod. (HA) Oh that I would dance (worship, praise, give thanks, honor & glory, etc...) before the Lord with all my might!

This was my third time being at NTY and I am hoping to bring more students to the event next May 2009.
