Comfortable Christianity
Jesus rebuked the Pharisees for their religious thinking. They held the power in the ruling political authority, the Sanhedrin, and were interested in maintaining the status quo. They were not open to the move of God in their very midst.
Many Christians fall into the trap of becoming comfortable with their Christian routines and fail to grow. They see things happening that they have not experienced or that makes them uncomfortable and dismiss them as not being from God. They prefer a safe God that doesn't change the way He relates to them.
We must get rid of all inertia in our lives and seek Him with all of our hearts. The old should not be good enough. We should be willing to follow Him wherever He wants to take us no matter how uncomfortable it makes us feel.
