John 3:16 Jake Style
So, this is a very popular verse and has probably been torn apart about a thousand times over. I thought I'd just give my personal take on this. The thing about this verse is...it grants each and every one of us a chance....wait no....a HOPE. The thing is, in most cases....all we want is a chance, right? Well this just sets in stone that with God, maybe one chance isn't enough. I know that I've sinned more times than I can count, but God has been there to give me a chance and to love me and to care for me over and over and over again. This does not mean that we are able to abuse the power of forgiveness, but rather, we should embrace it. God loved us enough to send His own Son to die for us, so why don't we go that extra distance each day to show that love to someone else. Maybe there's someone in the cafeteria sitting by themselves at lunch...why not show God's love by just sitting with them and having a conversation with them and getting to know them. Why not take that extra leap of faith that God so willingly took for us. Who knows, maybe that little leap for us is all that someone needs to be saved.
