Deuteronomy 8:14-18

This is one of my favorite portions of the bible. This is one that states firmly that we are not to forget God. It is so much easier to thank God for all the hard times that he brought us through than it is to remember God in our good times. There are times when we can feel on top of the world, but forget God. Without God, we become empty, and with that emptiness come hard times once more. It is great to be on top of the world, but remember that God is the one who put you there. The moment you forget God, your time of joy will be short-lived. When we remember God and all He has done for us, then, and only then, may we truly be joyful.
