Marking significant moments
It almost sounds as if God put the rainbow in the sky as a reminder to himself. Verse 15 says when he sees the rainbow, "I'll remember my covenant..." I think we can assume that God doesn't really forget things, so why is it stated this way? I wonder if it is a model to us...that when God does something signficant in our lives...we should somehow mark it as a reminder. Kind of like a wedding ring reminds us of our vow to our spouse. I wonder what I can do with my kids to help them mark, and remember, spiritually significant moments in their lives.
