Joshua 1:9
Wow. I haven't really read into Joshua too much so this reading is new to me. All I can say is wow. There, right there in writing, is the answer to all of our fears. It says "Strength! Courage! Don't be timid; don't get discouraged. God, your God, is with you every step you take." So let's put this into perspective. You are playing a game of basketball and it's 2 against one, simply for the fact that nobody else is there to be your partner. You are getting majorly discouraged, and then Kobe Bryant shows up to play on your team. Would you be discouraged anymore? The best in basketball, and he's there to play on your team. So what's this mean? Why am I saying this? Because having God for all situations is much like that. Why does everyone have such extreme fears when we have the God of the universe looking over our head? I'm pretty sure that He, you know, kind of kicks butt. This verse has quickly become one of my favorites because it carves in stone the idea that God is with us every step of the way. It's an encouraging and soothing thing to hear.
