Define Apostleship

• Acts 1:22 (ASV)
• Acts 1:23 (ASV)
• Acts 1:24 (ASV)
• Acts 1:25 (ASV)
• Acts 1:26 (ASV)

Some sects of Christianity seem to draw there definition of Apostleship from this passage. An Apostle is one who has seen Christ. There's more to it but I questioned if that is what this verse says.
