Jesus told them that the Kingdom of God can't be detected by visible signs. I think He was saying that the Kingdom of God is more of a state of being than a political state. Even if we catch a glimpse of this state of being we long for it, but we won't see it in its fullness until Jesus returns.
But in the mean time, I think we can still be takenby this state of being if we will allow it to happen to us. If we surrender our lives to the living Christ and seek him in every situation we will be takenby the love and beauty that surrounds us. We will be takenby gratitude for the gift of life that God has so graciously given us. Two people can be working at the same job; one is takenby the miracle of life while the other is left to struggle with the fear of what might happen or against bitterness over what may have already happened.
It is so easy to slip away from the Kingdom of God, even when the Holy Spirit is constantly surrounding us and offering it to us every moment. If, however, we stay connected to Jesus and prepare ourselves for it and then allow it takeus at any moment - we can know it's presence and live in its peace.
