a jealous god
God wants us to love the people around us but not the world. which i think means don't conform to what others are doing stick strong to your beliefs Stay away from the world conforming us to sinful desires that "everyone is doing" like sex or drinking or drugs or cussing whatever it is it tempts us and when we choose that before god it not only upsets god but it can hurt our soul God wants our hearts he is a jealous god He wants his holy spirit to fully have our hearts god envies those sinful desires he cries out for us to choose him instead of a life full of lies and sin and hurt. He knows us better than we know ourself he knows what makes us happy and what hurts us and even when we choose to become a friend of the world god continues to love us and cover us by grace the more we screw up (although this doesn't mean we can continue to screw up whenever we want just because we're covered by his grace!!)
