It's Not About Me Anymore

S - We who are strong have an obligation to bear with the failings of the weak, and not to please ourselves

O - Paul is encouraging those who are more experienced, or stronger, in the faith to be patient and realize our journey toward Christ must transform to one that includes different companions along the way. We help each other, learn from each other, and sharpen each other. As new Christ followers, we are selfish and immature. But as we grow through experiences, God will change us, if we allow Him, to encourage others in their relationship with Jesus.

A - In my role as a pastor, specifically as a leader of a lot of teens and twentysomethings, I realize through this passage the important of sharing what I've been through in life with them. Why allow someone else to repeat a mistake I've made in the past. It's easy to get frustrated and not want anything to do with them, but it's vital that I press on.

P - O great God, thank you for the burden for the young that you've given me. I ask that you would take my experiences from life and use them to teach and grow them. Amen.
