What are you speaking?
One of the cutest things my son and daughter do is sing "This light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine" with their heads rocking back and forth as they rocked their heads to the rhythm, holding their pinky in the air as a lantern singing at the top of their lungs. They were letting their light shine and boy did it. Still does in fact.
Those who know me know that I am just a tad intense, o.k. extremely passionate about a lot of things, especially how God has infiltrated my life, turning me away from the things that did not glorify Him or what He has done for us all. Let me say, that has gotten me in trouble a few times, and a lot of times people find it overwhelming at first. Because of it being overwhelming, I have struggled with God to change that part about me, the way I am when I get excited, to calm that passion inside me. Guess what he told me, "Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven. (Matthew 5:16 AMP)."
He is happy who I am. After all He created me this way. He knew me before anyone else and knew what I would be like. He knit me in my mother's womb. Just as he has created you to be the way you are. So my intention is to not attempt to hide who I am, or to cover my beliefs or passions to appease others. I choose to speak of my Holy Father, my glorious Savior, and my wonderful Counselor through my everyday actions and although it puts off some people I understand that God didn't make me to appeal to them at that moment in time. He is using me to standout and be a light so that He may change their heart and see His wonderful love inside if me. Those who have told me that God cannot use someone as intense and passionate, i simply reflect on my son and daughter singing another line in that wonderful song that goes, "I won't let Satan blow it out, NO!, I'm gonna let it shine!" For those like Moses who are afraid of public speech I am not asking for you to get on a telephone book and prophesy to your office. But I am asking through your life, actions and passions, what are you speaking?
