GO AHEAD, GET MAD...
Daniel 3:22 And because the King, IN HIS ANGER, had demanded such a hot fire in the furnace, the flames killed the soldiers as they threw the 3 men in.
I'm shouting before I even write this because it shows the "I'm a G" (if u will) side of God.
Have you ever made a dumb decision out of anger? I know we all have, and we usually live to regret the outcome. This is exactly what happens in this short scripture but God uses it for the good of His people.
King Nebuchadnezzar was so upset, that he demanded the fire in the furnace to be 7 times hotter than usually. Little did he know that 7 was God's number of completion and the Lord couldn't help but work when His number was called.
God allowed the king, who was supposed to have control over the 3 men to get soooooo angry that he got confused and didn't even know it! He ended up killing his own men because he was trying to steal God's shine and make the 3 men bow to him. God's jealousy really came through for there good!
HOW DOES THIS RELATE TO ME? I'm glad you asked...in today's world, Satan is playing king and he's trying to steal God's glory. He wants you to bow to him. He knows we won't do it if he just says "bow to me I'm the devil," so he uses different things to distract us from God; to spend more time on or with that thing, than with God. BUT...
As long as you keep giving God the glory the devil can't harm you! See the 3 men tell the king, no matter what you do to us, our God will save us. That's the mentality that we need daily. No matter what the devil brings my way, God's gonna sustain me. You may not like this part, but it will get rough! The king commanded the fire to be so hot that his own men died throwing the 3 men in there. Likewise the enemy is going to try and "put you through hell" and you may feel like you can't even handle. You may even go through stuff that other people die from (as in the text) but stay in fire!
WHY STAY IN THE FIRE? The fire, even though it's hot and an uncomfortable place, is purifying you. It's burning away things that you don't need anymore, people you don't need in your life anymore, places you don't need to be. The devil will think he's winning and think he's defeated you, but remember in the story, they said they put 3 men in the fire, but they saw 4! The Lord will walk with you through the fire and protect you so you don't burn up, but when you come out, you'll be as pure gold! Just when the devil thinks he has you, God shows up and turn Satan's master plan into the Master's Plan.
If you're going through the fire now, hang in there, God's working on you! You're coming out gold!
