Just a thought...
Though I really don't have anything too deep to discuss, something that stood out throughout this chapter was the way Samuel approached God. The way he was able to openly communicate with God without worrying about the things that were currently going on in his life. Actually, this dude's sons were totally doing what they wanted to do, and not following in his ways. However, Samuel did not become an emo kid, and feel as if he couldn't talk to God.
"Oh Lord, you must hate me because my kids are acting all crazy. How could I even dare to come into Your presence in my filth!"
That's not what happened. When the people came to him addressing this particular issue, Samuel prayed. I would really like to know what kind of a father Samuel was in order to see why his kids were disobedient, or even the kind of prayers he prayed in regards to this whole ordeal. However, what I do know is that even though Samuel had things going on in his life, he did not write himself off as unable to commune with God.
We tend to burden ourselves whenever we sin, and think that we are unworthy to be with God due to our mess ups. It's funny, because then we forget that we were NEVER worthy to have a relationship with God to begin with. It is because of who He is and what He has done that we are able to know and serve Him, not because of who we are and what we have or have not done.
Boldly enter His presence, and ask God to make you more like Him. His arms are always wide open when our hearts are broken before Him and laid out on the altar.
