Simple Message
Do pastors sometimes complicate the message by trying to put too much into one sermon? What would happen if pastors would try John's method - keep it simple and on point! One of my former pastors would put enough for three sermons into one sermon. At times, we would say, "Good message." Yet, did we really grasp the truth he was trying to convey? I doubt it. Now that I am a pastor, I ought to keep in mind the simple message. The idea is not to dumb down the truth, but to thoroughly and practically present the truth. It worked for John - perhaps it would make pastors more effective.
