The "First" & the "Last" Adam
After reading some of the comments on Genesis 3:22, I felt the need to add in my two cents...
In this passage, God refers to Himself in the plural form (as in many other passages of the book of Genesis) not because He is scared of Man's newfound knowledge & therefore ganging up with the angels against him... But because He is a Triune God - the GodHead 3 in one (Father, Son & Holy Spirit). In fact, Man is the only living being that contains a shadow of this Trinity, being uniquely created with a body, soul & spirit.
Now, I believe God expulsed Man from Eden in order to prevent Man from living in a Fallen stage Forever (the Tree of Life was only a ''physical salvation''). He had a better plan to offer instead - to send the "Last Adam" as ultimate sacrifice for all humankind. In fact, Jesus were to conquer not only death itself but also restore ALL authority that the "First Adam" had transferred to Satan!
***Satan while tempting Jesus in the desert: "To you I will give all this authority & their glory, for IT HAS BEEN DELIVERED TO ME, & I give it to whom I will. If you, then, will worship me, it will all be yours." (Luke 4:6-7)***
