Our daily, spiritual, work out
I especially like how Paul describes how he confronts his fleshly desires in light of his mission. He "beats his body" and "makes [it] his slave" so that he will not lose credibility among those to whom he brings the message of the gospel. I think this is a ritual we ought to engage in daily - via prayer, reading scripture, worship through music, meeting needs as we see them around us. We need to remind ourselves of our mission and work very hard to insure we don't fall into hypocrisy.
