HOLY FREAKIN' COW! This story is just plain crazy whenever I read it! So here's the backdrop...Abraham gets this HUGE promise from God...essentially that he'll have descendants as "numerous as the stars." But there's only 1 problem...he doesn't have a son plus he's freakin' old...so how is he going to have this huge legacy to live on then?

So this HUGE miracle by providing him a son in Isaac. But then, he puts Abraham's faith to the test by seeing "IF HE"LL SACRIFICE *what seems* as to BE THE ONLY METHOD OF THE FULFILLMENT OF GOD'S VERY PROMISE!" (that's like killing a business, a vision, a non-profit...all for the sake that God asked it to be put on the altar even though it seems as though that's the very thing/purpose that God has for your life)

CRAZY!

[update] So Preston spoke on this the other night...here's our conversation from afterwards. (P): when did God know what Abraham was going to do at the top of the mountain? (M): before Abraham even went up the mountain. (P): correct. so did God need to truly test Abraham's faith? (M): i guess not then. (P): so who was the test for? (M): Abraham? (P): yep (M): WHOA!!!!!!
