Blessed.

Okay, so, I'm a word person. When I saw the first two sentences I read in this chapter starting with the word 'blessed' I wanted a specific definition. Webster (that man is a genius) defines a 'blessing' as ' a thing conducive to happiness or welfare'. Well, that sounds great! I want that! Happiness and good welfare are always things we're looking for. Hah! Not so fast, these verses tell me... Blessed are (only) those who get up and do something about it. Sitting in my house, on my papasan chair waiting for blessings to fall into my lap is, simply, not going to cut it. Apparently, much to my dismay, blessed are those who put forth the effort. So, we read the bible daily, that's fantastic! You even blog about it and share your findings with others? That's wonderful! But (and here's the kicker) do you finish your daily readings and forget the real meat of the message? Do you just go on about life without ever applying the word of the Lord to the rest of your day? Are you guilty of this once in a while? Oh, good. Me too. Let's work on it. :)
