God takes on new names for Himself in this passage:

King and Redeemer: what was once David's role is still being fulfilled by God even though David is out of the picture and the nation itself is in exile

First and the Last-- Eternal. God isn't a tribal, regional or cultic, family deity. He is the creator and finisher God.

ROCK v 8. The place of safety and security. Can't help but think of Moses who, viewing God, is placed in the clef of a rock and covered by God's hand.

In a place as Israel finds itself, In the places of exile in which we find our selves. it is good that we have a God who is our ROCK
