Jesus came for the sinners

Jesus chose sinners to be his disciples. Levi (who is more widely known as the disciple Matthew & wrote the gospel bearing his name) was a tax collector. Tax collectors were the worst of the worst. They were traitors to the Jewish faith who made their living stealing from their people. Jesus sought out and called him to be his disciple.

Jesus then proceeds to hang out with the "sinner" friends of Levi. The members of the religious establishment were upset with Jesus as a result.

Which does our church most closely resemble? The true life and mission of Jesus? Our the religious hypocrisy of the establishment that has become the "Christian" church?

Let's go out and do like we should, not as we think we should.
