Faith and Deeds in my own life
James 2:14: Faith and deeds.... the way i grew up the emphasis was all about "what we did" - not what Christ did. And yet here James is revealing through God's word that it's a "both/and", not an "either/or" (to borrow a phrase from my friend Tim). I find that as I "have deeds", my heart becomes more inline with what Christ is asking of me in my life. Not as a way to salvation as some would have us believe, but as that litmus test for myself, and as an act of devotion to the one who bore my sins.
