If grief is the natural pursuer on the heels of loss, then revenge is the blister that forms on our heels when we don't stop running. Grief must catch us & ring us dry, bringing us to the end of ourselves emotionally & to the beginning of healing. Without this, our souls withdraw & become consumed w/ unforgivenness. Our condition worsens, a slow & steady pace of degeneration. There is no emotional end of ourselves here, only spiritual death, & there is no beginning from this point on. Unforgiveness does not stop the pain; it spreads it. Forgiveness takes the pain and transforms it into Love.
