Healing the Community

An offense within the fellowship is to be addressed for rectification and healing, not vengeance. Paul states that the goal of addressing sin within the fellowship is the health of the community. The offender is to be loved, and punishment is given only to restore the community. The message says it well: "pour on the love." This statement implies all efforts to address sin within the fellowship is a balance of truth, corrective action, mercy, and love, but even the corrective action is motivated by love.
