Divine Encouragement
Acts 9:31 NLT
The church then had peace throughout Judea, Galilee, and Samaria, and it became stronger as the believers lived in the fear of the Lord. And with the encouragement of the Holy Spirit, it also grew in numbers.
"With the encouragement of the Holy Spirit." What an incredible phrase. The church was experience such a great surge of momentum as people took the message of Christ everywhere. People where seeing the healing power of God in full demonstration. Excitement was in the air.
What can a person or group of people do when individually encouraged by the Holy Spirit? What would happen if nurses on the pediatric floor were encouraged by the Holy Spirit? What would happen of the school custodian was as well? Or what about a VP of a corporation or a house mom?
We all need encouragement from time to time. But divine encouragement is different. It carries power as Gods word is brought to the forefront of our minds. Divine encouragement keeps us in Gods presence where petty things matter less and less. Being encouraged by the Holy Spirit activates something within us that helps to rise the tide or water level, helping us sail over the the negativity and the problems we may encounter.
Today Lord, i will meditate on your word. I will sing a new song and I will sing in the spirit. I will pray in my understanding and i will pray in the spirit. I will listen to the Holy Spirit's encouragement more than my circumstances. AMEN
