No Shame
Of course, some of our actions should bring us shame, the kind of healthy shame that leads to repentance and forgiveness. There is another unhealthy kind of shame that comes from a core idea, often from childhood, that we are bad and worthless in our very being. Even our "religion" teaches that with the sin of Adam and Eve, we entered into hiding, because of core shame.
The "Good News" is good because it removes our core shame. We are freed from unworthiness. We are invited to come out of hiding. We can enter into the very presence of God. As stated by these scriptures, we can even look God in the face, and know we are without condemnation or blame.
Don't be discouraged if this "theological" truth of Christ's love doesn't quickly move from your mental grasp to an experience of your heart and emotions. True, some believers experience such a radical sense of immediate liberation, but others experience progress day by day, degree by degree. Stay grounded in the hope and confidence of what God promises: you are a brother or sister to Christ, and because you carry the family identity, each day, you are growing more and more into the likeness and power of your Father in Heaven.
