Christians should be aware of Jesus return
I have always heard 1 Thess 5:2, but maybe for the first time I am seeing it in context. I love how you can read scripture over and over again and see something new every time.
Anyway, Paul seems to suggest v. 2 is meant for the unsaved. Because they live in darkness they will be surprised when Jesus returns, but because the Christian lives in the light he/she will be prepared. I don't know if this means that we will be able to anticipate His arrival, but it at least indicates that surprised we will not be.
