Everything we need is in the Bible

Paul tells Timothy that the scriptures are able to make him 'wise to salvation'. So everything we need to please God is contained in the pages of our Bibles. We don't need to look at other other 'holy books'. We don't need to apply human wisdom or interpretation. We just need to base our beliefs and our life in Christ on the teachings of the Bible.
