Resting in Christ is STILL a matter of life or death
The Sabbath is a symbol of our rest in (and loyalty to) Him as creator (Exodus 20:11) and redeemer (Deut 5:15), thus although no longer legally imposed, the Sabbath (resting in Christ) is STILL a matter of life or death. "Therefore, since a promise remains of entering His rest, let us FEAR lest any of you seem to have come short of it." Hebrews 4:1. Our lives our just as dependent upon entering and remaining in His rest. Matt 11:28-30, Rev 14:11
