Giving up responsibility


I agree with another post on here. When I first read this text, I thought it noble of David to let God decide - he felt guilty for his sin and thought it better if God chose. After reading the entire passage, especially verse 17, I realize this was just David's way of getting out of the responsibility that he was intrusted with. His inaction caused the suffering of his people. It's a poignant reminder of the need to take responsibility when it is entrusted to you
