The sins of a leader multiply

In these verses, Hosea calls out Israel's leadership, its priests and kings, as responsible for the sins of the nation. At the time of this writing, Israel's leaderhip openly accepted pagan worship and did nothing to prevent the influence of pagan religions. God, through Hosea, calls them to task for this by saying, "this judgement is against you!" Because of their sin, they trapped the entire nation into sin. Think about this for a minute. Think about how many people look up to you. How will your sin affect them? As leaders (and parents), like it or not, we are role-models. Our sins have the ability to be multiplied by the people who follow us. This is an important lesson to me personally, especially when I think about all the people who I influence. I pray that I can be a Godly role-model to the people that look up to me.
