Your Personalized Evangelism Resource
You have an evangelistic resource that is powerful and unique to you. Your personal testimony is the only resource that comes custom to you. It is the story of how you came to believe in Jesus. No one can have an argument against your personal experience. I have found that people are interested in hearing how people came to faith in Christ—if you are organized that is! You need your testimony to serve as a life-long evangelism resource you can use over and over again. Take the time to write your testimony. Then practice sharing it with others regularly.
Many people use the format Paul used when he gave his testimony before King Agrippa (Acts 26). The verses below make an ideal outline for writing your testimony.
* Your Life Before Christ: “The Jews all know the way I have lived ever since I was a child, from the beginning of my life in my own country, and also in Jerusalem” (Acts 26:4)
* How You Came to Know Jesus: “About noon, O king, as I was on the road, I saw a light from heaven, brighter than the sun, blazing around me and my companion” (Acts 26: 13)
* How Knowing Jesus makes your life meaningful: “But I have had God’s help to this very day, and so I stand here and testify to small and great alike.” (Acts 26: 22)
