Corrie ten boom - truly preached from weakness
"How Christ can use our weaknesses to honor him"
Jesus also ministered out of weakness: in rural areas not to ASSERT authority because he had authority
2 Cor. 11:30; 12:1
These are personal private experiences that he doesn't want to brag about (like what was happening in Corinth)
Leading from weakness will: distinguish ourselves from other human systems
We will never impress the world; that's Jesus' thing
Christianity is not about a great speaker but about a mom and dad who live lives for Christ in front of their kids...It's about service
The less we emphasize our strengths the more we emphasize Christ
We are at our worst when we come across as know-it-all Christians. Arrogance is averse to everything Jesus wants us to be.
2 Cor. 12:7
1950s to 70s - umc, presbyterian started creating structures to help churches and pastors, but the structures began to supercede the bible
When the focus is on the lead pastor, what happens when he fails? Pastors should always lead from weakness.
G.D. Watson "...he will not let you do...it's likely God will keep you poor for something far better than gold"
