"Oh god of my father... " He is connected to God, connecting his story with God's story and love and faithfulness

Genesis 28 - Jacob used to barter with God and say "if you do this, then I will..."

Now he's aware of Gods greatness and grace in his life, and his own unworthiness.

We are not worthy of all these things... And the things we deserve, Jesus paid for on the cross for us

Prayer needs to be
- God aware
- self aware

Confession: who we are
Worship: who God has been to us
Thankfulness: what God has done for us
Request: what we need God to do
Promise: what promises we are putting our hope in

Jacob repeats back what God promised to him, out of faith
