The Law Points to the Cross
I love this verse because it most clearly deciphers one of the mysteries of Christianity--if we know we are going to heaven, why bother following the law? It's not going to change anything.
Well, it turns out, it does change something. It changes your heart. The more and more I strive to follow the law, the more I realize how utterly sinful I am. And yet, God wants to have a relationship with me. Despite the fact that I am Hosea's wife to him, he still loves me.
It still stuns me.
