We can truly see God?
Blessed are the pure in the heart: for they shall see God
I believe too many times Christians overlook the meaning of this text! I know I have! What does it mean by truly see God? Does that mean we can actually see a physical form of God of what our minds might can picture?
This passage of scripture is soo special! Jesus is telling his disciples and us that we can truly know and see the characteristics of God once we are pure at heart! What does it mean to be pure of heart though?
I believe it tells us in James 4:8. "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded."
The truth is many Christians wait on God to perform a miracle and automatically purify our hearts of all of our sin and the circumstances that we are in. James tells us that if we just show God that we want to be closer to Him then He is there waiting on us. We have to move by faith to do this. However, I believe what James helps us see is that we have the choice of what we allow to affect our hearts. We allow what we take in as a human that affects our relationship with God. How far are you willing to go to truly know and see God? Are you willing to remove yourself from the positions that you are in which causes you're heart to be unpure before God?
