Spiritually Dull and Indifferent
This is a great phrase. When we allow ourselves to move out of the sphere of God and into the sphere of the world, this is often a dramatic side-effect.
Pretty simply when we stop working at our faith - when our spiritual disciplines cease - when the greatest voice in our lives is today's cultural reverberations - the sure fire result is a gradual decline. It's kind of like the wear on your engine you would sustain if you just stopped changing the oil in your car.
Your car will eventually break down.
