To me this is the picture of compassion.
He wasn't just crying because his friend had died, but more because of the hurt the sisters were experiencing.
It says "When he saw her sobbing.... Now Jesus wept"
He did not weep until he saw how much Hurt the sisters were in?
He was weeping for them.

How much more would God weep for us when we hurt?
Not because he thinks there is no hope, or because it won't work out in the end.
But because he cares that we are hurting in the moment, he hurts for us.
Not because he isn't in control but because he Loves us!
