How often do we shout, with such conviction, that our demands be met at any cost? And yet, how much discerning thought do we actually put in to the possible repercussions if our immediate state of mind is given its way?
CS Lewis said something like: “Faith is the art of holding on to things your reason has once accepted in spite of your changing moods." The mood of those assembled was inflamed, but not necessarily permanent. I wonder how many people regretted their 'fervor' on the day he died...
