I Wonder

I'm wondering if Moses already had this in his heart. His ready response makes me think he had already been mulling over this for some time with the repeated, internal, end result being that he just couldn't do it. After all, last time he tried to save the Hebrews it ended badly - killing someone and being banished from the land is anything but a head start for rescuing an entire civilization.

The really cool and universally applicable lesson here is that God uses whom he chooses to use. He sees deeper within us than we do. He saw past Moses' obvious inadequacies to his soul. Yahweh knew him and created him for this very purpose - what would be Moses' legacy, though at the time Moses' everyday concern was normal family matters and taking care of livestock.

The lesson here is to never sell yourself short. If God has called you to a project, he will give you what you need when you need it to get it done.
