where do you think?

How great is it to know that what you think, alone, with yourself, in the corner of your mind is what you are? Maybe it's scary... For me it has been freeing. I love knowing that I do not have to be a product of my past. I can focus on glorifying God and love and adjust my thinking. I don't have to be trapped by experiences I've had or mistakes I've made. Of course growing up in an inconsistent or unstable environment affects you, but it doesn't govern you. As you think within yourself, so you are. Our attitudes, goals, desires, motivations, etc... are the things that show who we are. It might sound like an "easier said than done" proverb, but it is not. This is simple. It does take discipline and dedication. It takes introspection and honesty. It takes surrender. But it doesn't need to be difficult. It's something we just need to do, something we need to stop simply talking about, but actually do.

Ah, I've probably said to much. Anyway, hopefully this realization will be as freeing for you as it has been for me, and continually proves to be with each morning.
