Why Not The Wind?
When you think about all that Elijah went through, the prologue of this encounter, it makes sense to think that this hurricane force wind could represent the chatter in his life. Wind comes and goes from all directions, and Elijah, despite having a great victory, listened to the rumors and the talk and fled. So God tore apart this mountain with "a great and strong wind." And I wonder why God was not in the wind? Perhaps because God is not a God of confusion [[ 1 Cor. 14:33 ]]
