Receiving God's Blessings Begins With...
There is one clear issue God communicates to us as necessary before He will bless us. One issue. It's a simple issue to understand but extremely difficult to do. Our pride gets in the way. Our personal desires get in the way. Our paradigm of the world and life gets in the way. And the hole we have dug ourselves into via choices we have made get in the way.
That one clear issue? Obedience.
God is clear that obedience precedes blessing. In this passage the specifics are in our giving. God will bless us IF we first obey Him. The main reason we are in debt is because we have not obeyed God in how we give and handle our finances. Being out of debt is a HUGE blessing of God that reaps all sorts of benefits.
So the path to getting out of debt and receiving the blessings of God begins with obedience. Am I obeying God in how I give and handle my money?
The blessings OF God are set in motion by my obedience TO God.
