Entrusted with the Gospel
It's interesting in this verse how God says the Jews were entrusted with the whole revelation of God. Their job was to be the "middleman" to the rest of the world, to spread the truth of God to those around them. But they failed. It's sobering thought that God likewise has entrusted his church with the Gospel. That it's our time and our calling to take the Gospel to those around us. Is the Church today really successful at doing this? Or are many of our churches so inwardly focused that we are making the same mistake Israel did. Let us not hold the Gospel so closely to our vests, but get our hands dirty in culture and in the messiness of people's lives.
