Relationship w/ God
Carrying on the same thought from earlier - if we were made through God and by God we were thus created to have relationship with God. Relationship with God is the main reason of our existence.
To live outside of relationship with God is to not live. God is life and that life is the light of men.
To walk outside of relationship with God is to walk in the darkness. The Word became flesh is the ultimate example of God desiring to have a relationship with us. When we walk in relationship with that life we walk in light. When we walk outside of relationship with the light we walk in the darkness that the world has to offer.
What a horrible existence - to walk in darkness, stumbling around trying to find our way. All the while the light beckons us to come and walk in it - but for some reasons the disease of sin and the appeal of darkness is greater at times.
