Back of the Class
I wonder, these men about whom Paul speaks... He says they had a *desire* to be teachers of the Law. In some light, I can't help but think that in their own minds they thought they knew God's teachings. In so doing, they were lead astray and in their own prideful arrogance sought to lead others astray.
I can't help but wonder if I ever get like that. How often do I just quote some obscure text from memory, without really understanding the full context of what was said? How many times to I just regurgitate what I've heard others say, such that it makes me sound like I know what I'm talking about.
Abba Father, please help me to listen more than I speak; to desire closeness with you over the approval of others. Help me to seek to be the student and not long to be the teacher. Help me to live life the way you want me to.
