Telling
S- Mark 5:19 NLT
But Jesus said, “No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.”
O- Jesus has just cast demons out of this man, amd he asks to follow him. Instead Jesus tells him to go spread the news. This is likely an area filled with non-Jews; practicing Jews wouldn't be raising pigs. He tells him to go tell his family and friends. It's interesting how he tells him to spread the word. He doesn't say to tell them who Jesus is or why he came. He says to tell them what God has done for him and how he has experienced God's mercy.
A- I think that's the key to sharing our faith with people who don't know Jesus. We don't start with theology. We don't start with getting them to come to church. We start with talking about what Jesus has done for us. That can make it more of a conversation than an argument. What has God done for me?
P- God, please help me to talk freely and openly about those things you have done for me.
