Singleness of purpose. Perseverance.
Singleness of purpose, our ability to know what we are meant to be and to do in our lives doesn't unravel easily.
God tells us we must endure through suffering, it's a lesson that might take our entire life to learn. Pain and suffering is our badge of honour. A badge that must be worn with pride. The badge is a key that opens the door to salvation and eternal life as it says in Romans 5:3 "but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance"
Pain is necessary to develop our faith, through time we have learned that human beings quit easily unless challenged by obstacles. We also value things more when they require we work for them.
Our faith will be tested. Not because our God represents pain and suffering but because He loves us. He wants us to gain the necessary tools to fight the devil's doing. God tells us in James 1:3, 4 "because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything"
We are not complete unless we persevere, stick to it, adhere to following his laws.
So don't try to get out of anything prematurely. Let it do its work so you become mature and well-developed, not deficient in any way.
