Sin Always Has Consequences

Sometimes we forget that sin has consequences just because the results aren't instant. And sometimes we even use this fact to take advantage of God's grace.
We might say to ourselves, "It's just one sin and all I have to do is ask God for forgiveness afterwards." Then continue to think, "No side effects, no problem." But this is not true.
Look at the consequences David had because of one sinful mistake.
Calamity was brought to his household and worst of all, his son died. Neither of these events happened immediately after the sin, but the impact was still great.
God might not always make it clear what the results of actions will be, like how He told David, but we know that everything we do has a consequence.
(However, we do know the ultimate consequence of sin is death. {James 1:15, Romans 6:23})
So don't belittle severity of sin. Jesus died so that we could take authority over it!
